Snopes did an admirable job covering the matter and cannot confirm it. Other liberal sources have also not been able to confirm this occured as reported either. The fact is there is only an anonymous source cited by two liberal leaning media outlets and a now retired General who wasn't near Trump at the time this was reportedly said.
Trump privately called fallen troops "suckers and losers"

1. Anonymous source was the source.
2. The Atlantic reported it using anonymous sources without any recording or other evidence.
3. General Kelley reported it was said but never clarified how he heard it since he reportedly was not near Trump at the time this would have been said.
4. People who were next to Trump at the time this was reprotedly said has said they did not hear this.
5. The accused has always denied it was said.
6. Story originated in 2020 and then resurfaced again in 2023.
Again, the US media has had a strong liberal bias for many years and has been embarassed being caught covering for their preferred party or in misleading statements routinely. Anonymous sources, which could be not be verified, was a routine issue around 2019 and 2020. We have a story here without one shred of any evidence it ever occured. Until there is some veracity this occured, it is a story fit for a gossip rag intended to defame. Whereas Snopes may opt to only render an opinion if you can prove it true or prove it untrue, we follow the US law approach. "Innocent until proven guilty" was created to prevent abuse of Americans by unsubstantiated accusations and when the Presidency is on the line, we feel it certainly applies here.
