During the debate, Kamala's association ot Marxism was raised in part because of her dad's teachings as an esteemed economics professor. Many want to distance Kamala from her dad's teaching proclaiming he is Post-Keynesian economicist, not Marxist, but the facts are well founded.

1. Stanford's 1972 announcement of Donald Harris joining Stanford was this :
"Don Harris, a prominent Marxist Professor, has been offered a full professorship in the Economics Department here, Department Chairman James Rosse confirmed yesterday."
2. Snopes.com confirmed the assertion as well.
3. Donald Harris is since retired.
People will go into LOOOOOOONG, boring explanations of how Donald Harris is "Post-Keynesian economicist, not Marxist" but the bottom line is Stanford hired him to teach economics and proudly labeled him as a Maxist Professor. Mr Harris accepted Stanford's offer despite this proclaimation and no retraction has been noted. I would assume Stanford would be an inarguable subject matter expert on the economics theory of someone they were extending a full professorship. Follow the science, not the internet right?
It is reported that Kamala and her father had an estranged relationship however Kamala's father dedicated some of his books to her and Maya, and he did attend some of her life events. It is curious however that Kamala also majored in Economics, it would be odd if she did not look to her father for guidance. Guidance that would include topics like income distribution and equity.
